The Samoyed is a very gentle breed, and he is amicable even with strangers. He never exhibits unprovoked aggression and is very sweet with young children. He should not be trusted with cats, although well socialized dogs can get along with cats and other smaller animals.

Samoyeds were developed in Siberia and were brought to England in 1889. They have a dense double-coat and well-muscled body, and their powerful legs provide for firm and self-assured, yet graceful and dignified trotting walk. These dogs are not intended for service. A new pet for sale may need training; a fully-grown dog may have already been provided with it.
