Samoyeds have a thick double-coat, which should be groomed regularly and thoroughly. Males have a well defined ‘ruff’, and are somewhat larger than females. These animals are excellent companions for children; and they love human company and daily moderate exercise. The pet classifieds give a breeder more exposure for their animals; often, rescues are staffed by volunteers.
