Samoyeds are not the breed for everyone. First, the Samoyed sheds twice a year, which makes this breed unsuitable for those concerned with the perfect cleanness of the rooms. If you do not have time to brush your Samoyed on a weekly basis and to clip his toenails, you are not ready to meet the dog's needs.
Also, Samoyeds should not be left alone for a long time. If you are not planning on making your Samoyed an integral part your family, consider buying another breed.
A fenced yard is an important requirement with the Samoyed. Moreover, your fenced yard should be secure enough to prevent the Samoyed from escaping. Climbing tall fences is what Samoyeds are keen on doing.

Ask your breeder how long he has been breeding Samoyeds, and if he shows his dogs in conformation or obedience. Find out about the age of the sire and the dam. All medical documents and results of x-rays should be available for the potential owners to see. Ask for the hips and eyes guarantees. A responsible breeder provides a list of references and insists on signing a contract, which makes you return the Samoyed puppy should it turn out impossible for you to keep it. Samoyeds make wonderful pets for responsible owners.
